Reworked.

Everybody kept saying that my logo looked like a Macromedia product so I thought I'd have my hand at reworking the logo and make it a little more bulletproof. I've tried to keep the familiar S but work within a framework that gave me more flexibility and seemed to speak to the kind of stuff that I do. I also integrated more green into the logo to really emphasize the brand. I'm confident that I've got that unique look moving forward.

Time to pull the cork out of the champagne bottle and celebrate...

Update: Of course, this was all an april fools joke. As expected, Dan got a kick out of it.

Reminds me of another logo... ;)

Nice bit of simple work on the logo.

Congrats. :)

yeah, that little round 'f' from fireworks ? :)

Mini-d said on March 31, 2007

Yes, this logotype is almost a carbon-copy of Dan Cederholm's SimpleBits. I recommend you a fast bulletproofing on that logo.

Very nice. I think you should trademark this logo ASAP so that no one tries to steal it. Too bad trademark offices aren't open on Sundays; I guess you'll have to wait until April 2 to get it done...

Dude, I think you totally ripped my logo. Don't make me call Mr. Burns' lawyers... ;-)

Does no one realize what day it is today?

You decided to make a new logo - good timing! I too created a brand-new, unique logo:

I love it! You may want to add a roof & chimney on the S though... it would probably give it a little more edge and help it stand out even more. Just a suggestion ;)

Lol, nice.

I was looking to change mine pretty recent... but I didn't have photoshop so I had Jina Bolton create mine. I paid lots of money for this!

Brain Waren said on March 31, 2007

Snook, you stole my logo. I want it back!

Nathan Pitman said on March 31, 2007

Brilliant!

Wait, wait, wait just a minute! What is up with stealing my logo! I want my pixels back!

April 1.

I think you should consider taking that award prize winner T-shirt design and make a logo of that one. April Fool or not, but I think that one is really top-notch.

Georges said on April 01, 2007

AWESOME!!! Best Aprils 1st on the net ;)

Tim said on April 01, 2007

haha nice one... looks like you had some competition lately ;-)

Andrew Faulkner said on April 01, 2007

Wow. You're a great designer. Ever thought of offering your services to a logo creation company? ;)

Steve Tucker said on April 01, 2007

Did you intentionally surround the 'S' with four curly braces; the type found following 'if' statements in PHP-like languages? If so, it's very clever :)

Kilian Valkhof said on April 01, 2007

That is pure genious! It just screams "Snook", seriously. The shapes, the curves, it's all so..original! I especially like the simple bits at the outside :)

ps. You forgot to rework your favicon!

It is April 1st, isn't it. That definitely wasn't my first thought when I saw the logo ...

Micah Choquette said on April 01, 2007

I think there is a lot more people who don't get the joke, than we know.

Cory said on April 01, 2007

Well, it doesn't get anymore unique than that.......unless you work for Logo Maid!:)

I love April Fools Day!!

Lauren Smith said on April 01, 2007

Nice. But you're design is looking strangely familiar to the rest of these...

Coincidence?

Steve Lounsbury said on April 01, 2007

This is too good! I never did get finished reading that huge string of comments after Dan posted the screenshot of the original ripoff on flickr. April fools is great.

Ian Smith said on April 01, 2007

Ohh man... this joke was good enough to leave up for more that one day :)

Respiro, the logo design guy said on April 02, 2007

Is there anybody here who talks serious? I mean... I saw a bunch of SimpleBits-like logos...

Johan said on April 02, 2007

Overworked?

Q said on April 02, 2007

Nice. I got 3 questions though...
How can I trademark a logo ?
Anyone did it before in this list ?
How much it costs ?

Arjun said on April 04, 2007

You've got an awesome blog. Love the colors!

Chris Murphy said on May 31, 2007
