Webmaster Jam Session 2007

Webmaster Jam Session 2007

Remember when I said that I was going to be more proactive in going after speaking opportunities? The approach has already paid off as I'll be speaking at the Webmaster Jam Session in Dallas, Texas. It's on Septermber 21 and 22 and I hope to see you there. I keep hearing from everybody that was there last year that it's plenty of fun. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting plenty of new people and meeting up with friends.

The speaker lineup is pretty sweet, too. Jared Spool is the keynote speaker and he's fantastic. I saw him speak at Web Directions North and was thoroughly impressed. Fellow Ottawan, Derek Featherstone, will also be there along with fellow Sidebar Creatives, Dan Rubin and Bryan Veloso. We tried to get Steve Smith to come but apparently it's his wedding anniversary. Pshaw... Take a look at the speakers list and check out what a great couple of days this should be.

One thing these guys are doing that I hadn't seen before is Platinum Pass Sessions where you can talk one on one with the speakers about your site (with Jared Spool, no less), along with access to other exclusive sessions.

You can save $50 by registering before July 15th. Considering it's only $199, this event is a great value. Even the Platinum Pass is only $399 which is still cheaper than many other conferences. (I forgot to mention, to get your Early Bird discount just use the Discount Code "CLICKHAPPY" when you register.)

I look forward to seeing you there!

Congrats Snook. I saw that you were in the lineup. Now I need to plan my vacation around that time so I can attend :)

Texas is just a tad to far away for me :(

OT: I couldn't help noticing the trees in the header looks alot like some trees in another header. Then I realized it's from my my.opera community blog which I just signed up on to try out. Here it is (no content there) It's the exact same tree. Where are they really from...?

I'm so excited to go, it will be tons of fun; the sessions, meeting you guys, and just being in Dallas.

@Jina: I hadn't noticed but now that you mention it, it is rather lopsided isn't it. There's the token female: Molly. (I'm sure she'd love being called token, of which she's anything but.)

Good for you, Snook. I'm contemplating it... I'm ashamed to admit it, but would you believe I've been in this industry for over a decade and have never attending an industry specific conference/workshop session before? It's time to stop being such an anti-socialite. :-P I'm taking your lead. I'm going to be more proactive about speaking engagements, articles, etc.

Thanks for the discount! :)

This will be my first web conference and I can't wait!

@Eden: Same =D. Can't wait, see you there! Hopefully I get my new MacBook Pro by that time (I will need to take notes somewhere, and hopefully it isn't on paper).

Thanks for the coupon Mr. Snook!
